AT&T Mobile Broadband and Silver Lining Networks - Portable WiFi Hot Spot Ads!

Sponsored mobile broadband by Silver Lining Networks Last week Silver Lining tested a WiFi Hot Spot at the annual Country Classic Horse Show at the Hunter Creek Equestrian Center in Wilsonville, Oregon. The ad supported WiFI was completely powered by mobile broadband.

The network's broadband connection was supplied via the AT&T 3G network and their Sierra Wireless AirCard 881 plugged into a Linksys WRT54G-3G router.

Great story from the New York Times about "WiFi Hot Spot in a Box" and this whole concept. They bring up the fact that the cellular providers consider sharing a connection like this to be in violation of their terms of service and that this is similar to when ISPs used to not support any type of router, and wanted to charge for every computer in your house that shared the network connection...
